I went back to Taj for Salsa, Hustle and more. There were plenty of people to dance with, although I am told that half of the time there are twice as many people in attendance. There was a good mix of music, with both a DJ and a live Latin band (Willy and the Cats). The food was excellent. The atmosphere had style. The professional performance by Martina Kocichova & Walter Perez was superb. Mondays at Taj is definitely worth checking out.

I tried out a new camera for this party. I used a Nikon P5000. The Nikon P5000 can go all the way to ISO 3200. Based upon that spec, I thought the camera might be able to take decent pictures in low light without a flash. It can, but you have to set it to a shutter speed of 1/30th of a second or 1/15th of a second with the aperture opened all the way to the camera's maximum of 2.7. The camera takes perfectly decent pictures when you use the flash under low light conditions, but when pushing it to its low light, non-flash limits, it did not perform quite as well as I had hoped.

Salsa and more Mondays at Taj is brought to you by a crew from Stepping Out Studios. Make sure to thank them for providing such a great addition to New York City's dance scene.
