Every year the American Friends support a production at the Royal Opera House and this year they chose to support a new Royal Ballet commission by Alastair Marriott, Children of Adam. The American Friends have been supporting the Royal Opera House since 1969 and their help is vital to its continuing success. Members of the American Friends were invited to attend a post performance reception following the production of Children of Adam, at which there was the opportunity to meet the choreographer, as well as Monica Mason the Director of The Royal Ballet and dancers from The Royal Ballet who had performed that night.

This is just one way in which, through a membership to the American Friends, you can increase your participation and enjoyment of performances by The Royal Ballet. Membership also gives you the opportunity to attend rehearsals, post performance receptions and special events. Members get insight into productions through About the House magazine which is published 4 times a year and receive a special American Friends newsletter, as well as having priority booking for tickets. It is also possible to be taken on a private back stage tour of the Royal Opera House, to areas not open to the public, to see the magic behind the red curtain, the beautiful ballet studios, and vast back stage area.

The American Friends of Covent Garden is a 501 (c) (3) organisation and donations and membership fees are therefore tax deductible to the extent allowed under US law.
