Felissimo Design House - Benefit for The September ConcertFelissimo Design House 10 West 56th Street New York, NY 10019 212.956.4438 Kazuaki Komura, Chief Operating Officer Benefit for The September Concert September 11, 2003 www.SeptemberConcert.org Haruko Smith, President By Dr. Roberta E. Zlokower August 21, 2003 Tonight I had the pleasure of visiting Felissimo Design House, a lovely shop for unique gifts and furniture. One can find plates with inspirational sayings that benefit UNESCO, and one can also find exquisite silver jewelry and very contemporary media shelves and furniture displays. Felissimo is housed in an historic mansion, said to once be occupied by Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, on West 56th Street, close to 5th Avenue. Tonight there was a celebration of music on each of the five floors, showcased with winding staircases and high ceilings. There were Guitarists, a String Trio, Pop Vocalists, Percussionists, a Celtic Folk Band, and a Belly Dancer. These musicians and performers will be joined by many more friends in the NY Performing Arts scene on September 11, 2003, at venues throughout NYC (check www.SeptemberConcert.org for latest schedule). One group, Fernando Orquera Y Su Propia Banda (propiaband@aol.com), from Ecuador, played rhythmic Salsas and Merengues on the popular top floor, where one could sip wine and meet Event Volunteers and Felissimo Officers. Watch for a Review and Photos of The September Concert, which will commemorate the second anniversary of the tragedy in NY. Kudos to Felissimo, Haruko Smith, Kazuaki Komura, and The Musicians and Volunteers for a lovely Benefit Preview Event. Felissimo Store, Event Performers, and Guests
