November 13, 2004 Heather Gehring's Gehring DanceTheatre presented their fall benefit, Fall in Motion. There was live music, social dancing, several performances by the company and guest artists, food, drink and general merriment. The company consists of Heather Gehring, Olivia Leigh Bramlett, Jamie Harrison, Nolan A. Gretzinger, Abbey Gehring, Kumiko Kobayashi, and Emily Edwards. Guest artists were Lou Brock, Ronen Khayat, Valeria Solomonoff, the Underground Dance Collective and Stone Forest Ensemble. Photography was exhibited by Philip Bieler and Mark S. Kornbluth. The performances included a lyrical Foxtrot that featured a topline so smooth it breathed. A modern work in long white skirts that was infused with a supplicant and rhythmic sensibility. An Argentine Tango that was driven and elegant. A modern duet with flowing transitions from one segment to the next. A solo performed on a table. And finally a truly exceptional modern duet that drew upon a yoga movement vocabulary. Heather, who has appeared in ExploreDance.com's fashion articles, is a dancer to watch.
