The Theater at the 14th Street Y co-presents the world premiere of /we?/ featuring MICHIYAYA Dance on Thursday April 25, at 7:30 pm, Friday April 26, at 8:00 pm, Saturday April 27, at 7:30 pm, Sunday April 28, at 4:00 pm.

/we?/ is a collective study on gender identity through a femme-identifying lens that rids the binary, embraces the inner self and builds without walls. States of transcendence, embodiment, neutrality and autonomy are explored as MICHIYAYA Dance interweaves thoughts, memories, and dreams.

Choreographed by co-artistic director Anya Clarke with visual and contextual design by co-artistic director Mitsuko Verdery, /we?/ features the full company of six femme-identifying dance artists: Belinda Adam, Breeanah Breeden, Stephanie Carlos, Nuria Martin Fandos, Hannah Seiden, Alexandra Wood, with live sound by performance duo slowdanger. /we?/ also features lighting design by Alejandro Fajardo and projection design by Jess Medenbach.

"/we?/ presents journeys through challenging binaries, as the dancers explore queer magic, sexuality, taboo, instinct, intuition and prejudice in the face of social norms," Julieta Varela (Medium). "The dancers, the innovative staging, the complex issues tackled with grace-they all combine to produce work that is provocative and deeply felt," wrote Mary Kaye-Schilling.

/we?/ will premiere at the Theater at the 14th Street Y (344 E 14th St, New York, NY 10003) on:
Wednesday April 24th: 7:30 PM - invitation-only dress rehearsal
Thursday April 25th: 7:30 PM - with pre-performance reception at 6:00 pm
Friday April 26th: 8:00 PM
Saturday April 27th: 7:30 PM
Sunday April 28th: 4:00 PM - with post-show discussion

/we?/ is made possible in part with public funds from Creative Engagement, supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and administered by LMCC.
