"More Forever" constantly extended the sonic aspects of dance. The use of release and silence at the end of phrases was astounding; the interplay between quiet and loud, between percussive and stroked footwork, and the immense range of dynamics and meters within a phrase. - Alastair Macaulay

Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, presents the world premiere of Caleb Teicher & Co with Conrad Tao: More Forever on Sunday, January 6 at 3pm and 7:30pm and Monday, January 7 at 7:30pm.

"One of the brightest lights in tap today" (The New Yorker), Caleb Teicher and Lincoln Center Emerging Artist and innovative pianist and composer Conrad Tao collaborate in More Forever, a new evening-length work commissioned by Works & Process. On a stage covered by a thin layer of sand, dancers explore American dance traditions such as vernacular jazz, tap, and Lindy Hop, set to Tao's new contemporary score for piano and electronics.

More Forever is commissioned by Works & Process at the Guggenheim and has been supported in part by residencies at the Pillow Lab at Jacob's Pillow Dance, Baruch College through the CUNY Dance Initiative, and Works & Process at the Guggenheim.

Leadership support for this Works & Process program provided by Charles and Deborah Adelman, with music commissioned by the Charles and Joan Gross Family Foundation.

Works & Process at the Guggenheim

Described by The New York Times as "an exceptional opportunity to understand something of the creative process," for over 34 years and in over 500 productions, New Yorkers have been able to see, hear, and meet the most acclaimed artists in the world, in an intimate setting unlike any other. Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, has championed new works and offered audiences unprecedented access to generations of leading creators and performers. Most performances take place in the Guggenheim's intimate Frank Lloyd Wright-designed 285-seat Peter B. Lewis Theater. In 2017, Works & Process established a new residency and commissioning program, inviting artists to create new works, made in and for the iconic Guggenheim rotunda. worksandprocess.org
