Roberto Villanueva presents his BalaSole Dance Company in "Salmagundi," a new program of solos showing a broad range of dance styles, music choices and artistic voices. Guests are Fredrick Davis and Alexandra Jacob, former members of DTH. July dancer/choreographers are Laura Assante, Briana Butler, Anna Cuffari, Elijah Laurant, Andrea Samonilova, Camille Schmoeker, Xavier Townsend, and an appearance by Villanueva. The enterprising Villanueva founded BalaSole five years ago to address the gaps in the field of concert dance by offering performance opportunities to talented dance artists of all genres, styles, artistic expressions, shapes, ages, sizes and background. Diversity and individuality distinguish BalaSole, which has presented over 150 artists since 2010, many dancers with such companies as the Limon Dance Company, Parsons Dance, Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Lucinda Childs Dance, Philadanco, and more.
