Buenos Aires in NYC - A dance party for the City the never Sleeps

Stepping Out Studios presented another "all night Milonga" last Friday night, Starting with Argentinian Tango Lessons from Armondo & Nuria, a one hour dance intensive that sets the pace for the evening. Then at 10 pm the Milonga begins. The floor fills quickly, as up to 350 singles and couples find the pulse of the music and maybe like no other dance style, when the couple connects the energy is like a river moving that will not stop, it continues to flow in a moving rhythm set in the time of DJ Ko's merciful beats. Tracks laid down to ease flow yet with the count ever present to allow the dancers to pause and set loose their individual flourish.

Stepping Out's "Sarah La Rocca" began the Argentine Style Milonga seven years ago. And although only about 45 people came at first, it has continued to grow, some nights filling the house with almost 500 Tangoistas.

If you are in NYC and you are a part of the Tango Clic you know about the "all night Milonga". Although this is NYC, the Tango scene is a family of friends. Sarah La Rocca, the Hostess for the evening, graciously pointed out dancers from other schools and clubs in the City, encouraging the crowd to get out and support the Tango Community here in the city.

At Midnight Armando and Nuria gave us all a demonstration of their dancing genius. Armando's command of the performance was wonderfully matched by Nuria's fierce yet marvelously feminine flourishes.

If you are into dance this is a must to participate in. If you are into Tango, take your mad steps down to Stepping Out for the next all night Milonga.

Be Well, and remember fresh breath is your responsibility.
