I was in Costa Rica to attend the Second International Concept Mapping Conference (CMC2006). Usually at conferences like this, there is a big banquet with entertainment. The entertainment turned out to consist of various dances performed by a local dance company led by a firecracker of a performer. At several points, the company convinced conference attendees to join in. It happened to be Brazilian Independence day, so they got the Brazilian contingent up and dancing Samba.

Concept Mapping was started by Dr. Joseph Novak. It turns out that in addition to having a passion for helping people learn how to learn, Dr. Novak also has had a long standing passion for dance. As we all discovered, he is a pretty good dancer too.
