Dance New York Studio Tour
Welcome to Dance New York. If you are here for a class or a private lesson, please let the receptionist know which class or teacher so she can sign you in.

If you are early, you can wait in the entryway. There are also benches around the walls of the main dance room.

Some ballroom dances go around the room following line of dance (counter-clockwise). Other dances stick to one spot. Take a walk around the studio, starting in the bottom left corner.

As you walk to the next corner, proceeding line of dance of course, you will notice the music closet. This room contains a machine from which songs can be selected by type of dance.

Here we are in the bottom right corner. Just behind us is a place to hang your coat.

Now we are in the top right corner of the room. You will notice two columns in the foreground and a curtained wall in the background. When this wall is in place (it is on wheels and can be rolled to the side), the space behind the columns is for stationary dances, while the main part of the room is for travelling dances. The curtained wall creates a small room behind it so that group classes can be taught at the same time as private lessons. Dance New York has two other small rooms, so this means that private lessons and three group classes can be taught at the same time if needed.

Behind us is the kitchen.

Now we are in the top left corner.

Assume that you just danced around the room fifty times doing Foxtrot. That can make you thirsty. Fortunately, you have your choice of a wide variety of refreshments at reasonable prices.

Don't forget to pay for your drink at the reception desk.

Okay. Now you have gotten a few lessons under your belt. You have been working hard all week. You need to go to a party! People at Dance New York parties range from beginners to advanced dancers and are very friendly.

Do enough of this, and who knows, you could come home from the next competition with a trophy just like many other Dance New York students and teachers.

You options for growth are many. You can compete. You can also perform at Dance New York student showcases. Here are some pictures from a recent showcase.
